About

Daily toggle between 3x semiconductor longs (SOXL) and 3x shorts (SOXS) based on whether SOXX rose more than 2.5% in the prior day; 100% allocation to the chosen levered ETF, with daily rebalancing.
NutHow it works
Each trading day, the strategy looks at SOXX’s 1-day return. If that 1-day return is greater than 2.5 (roughly a 2.5% move), it goes all-in on SOXS (the 3x bear semiconductor ETF). If not, it goes all-in on SOXL (the 3x bull semiconductor ETF). It rebalances daily, so you hold only one of the two leveraged ETFs each day. Amounts are allocated 100% to the chosen ETF (no partial cash cushion is depicted).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe ~0.95 vs SPY ~0.72; annualized return ~55.6% vs ~11.9%. Daily 3x semiconductor long/short bets capture big moves with discipline, delivering stronger returns than the S&P 500—note higher drawdown risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
