About
A fast‑moving, high‑risk strategy that times “buy the dip, sell the rip.” It uses simple gauges (overbought/oversold, fear, momentum, leadership) to switch between leveraged tech/semis in calm or oversold markets and volatility/defensive assets when markets overheat.
It reads simple dials to choose offense vs defense:
• Heat (RSI): a 0–100 speedometer; high = overbought, low = oversold.
• Recent bursts (1–6 day jumps/drops).
• Fear (VIX trend).
• Leadership (tech vs staples; stocks vs bonds).
Overbought after a run? Hedge/short with volatility or inverse funds (UVXY/VIXY, TECS/SOXS). Oversold after a sharp fall? Buy rebounds, mainly leveraged tech/semis (TECL, TQQQ, SOXL). Rising fear or defensives lead? Park in T‑bills/bonds (BIL, TMF/TMV), gold (UGL), dollar (UUP/USDU), or market‑neutral (BTAL). In calm uptrends, hold growth with some dividends (SCHD, DGRO). High risk due to leverage.
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 1.67 vs 1.41; annualized return ~76% vs ~22%; Calmar ~2.76 vs ~1.20. Dynamic leverage and hedging rotations aim for higher risk-adjusted returns than the S&P 500.
