This strategy watches a list of U.S. stock market gauges—especially tech, growth, consumer, financials, and the overall market. If any of them have risen too far too fast over the last 10 days, it switches into two volatility funds that aim to profit from market fear. If the market does not look overheated, it makes an aggressive bullish bet: first on leveraged Microsoft if Microsoft had a weaker day than the Nasdaq, otherwise leveraged Apple if Apple had a weaker day than the Nasdaq, and if neither did, leveraged Nasdaq exposure.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
