QQQY/PSQ - No Leverage

A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

Daily switches between QQQY (Nasdaq‑100 options‑income) and PSQ (inverse Nasdaq‑100) using trend, overbought/oversold, bonds, volatility, and dollar/commodity cues to earn income in calm markets and defend in downturns. No leverage used.
NutHow it works
Owns one fund at a time: QQQY or PSQ. QQQY is a Nasdaq‑100 fund that sells options for high monthly income (good in calm or gently rising markets). PSQ moves opposite the Nasdaq‑100, so it benefits when Big Tech falls. Each day it checks trend vs a long‑term line, recent price “speed” (RSI), bond trends, volatility spikes, and dollar/commodity cues. Healthy/calm → QQQY. Overheated, falling, or jumpy → PSQ. Rebalances daily. No leverage in holdings.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, rules-based rotation between QQQY and PSQ delivers income in calm markets and defense in downturns. Calmar ~1.79, max drawdown 11.5% vs SPY 18.8%, plus positive alpha vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
