About
A two-position Nasdaq strategy: it alternates between QQQ and PSQ based on whether the market looks strong, overheated, or washed out after a sharp drop.
This strategy only owns one of two funds: QQQ or PSQ.
QQQ tracks the big Nasdaq stocks, so it leans heavily toward companies like Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, and other large tech/growth names. PSQ does the opposite: it tends to rise when QQQ falls.
Each day, the strategy first asks whether the overall U.S. stock market looks healthy by checking if SPY (a broad U.S. market fund) is above its 200-day average price. If yes, it usually holds QQQ, but switches to PSQ if the market looks unusually overheated.
If the broad market looks weak, it becomes more cautious. It buys QQQ only after sharp recent drops that look “too far, too fast” and may bounce. Otherwise, if Nasdaq momentum looks weak, it holds PSQ instead.
Adaptive Nasdaq strategy with higher out-of-sample upside (~23%/yr vs ~18.8% for S&P) and lower drawdown (~15% vs ~19%), Calmar ~1.52. It rotates QQQ/PSQ to capture uptrends and defend declines, aiming for better risk-adjusted returns.
