About

Rules-based, trend-aware mix: ride Nasdaq in uptrends, buy big dips, and shift to the U.S. dollar, gold/commodities, and a market‑neutral hedge—or briefly short QQQ—when conditions worsen. Uses moving averages and RSI to decide.
NutHow it works
Big switch: If SPY is above its 200‑day average (uptrend), we mostly own QQQ (Nasdaq‑100). If QQQ is “too hot” (RSI>81; RSI = short‑term buying‑pressure gauge), we hedge with PSQ (inverse QQQ). If tech weakens, part shifts to UUP (U.S. dollar), GLD (gold), DBC/USO (commodities) and BTAL (market‑neutral). If SPY is below its 200‑day, we buy deep dips (RSI<30) via QLD (2× QQQ) or SPY; otherwise rotate among QQQ/PSQ/SHY or the diversifiers, favoring the recent laggard. Rebalance only if weights drift ~12%.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: 31.9% annualized return vs SPY’s 25.0%, with lower drawdown (17.7% vs 18.8%) and Calmar 1.80. Rules-based Nasdaq-focused strategy with diversifiers, aiming higher upside and controlled risk vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
