About
A daily market-timing strategy built around leveraged Nasdaq exposure: own QLD in favorable setups, move to Treasuries when tech looks overheated, and in weaker markets switch between QLD, bearish QID, and TLT.
This strategy mainly tries to own QLD, a fund that aims to deliver 2x the daily move of the Nasdaq-100 (big tech-heavy companies).
It first checks if the overall U.S. stock market looks healthy using SPY vs its 200-day average. In strong markets it holds QLD unless QLD looks overheated, then it hides in long-term Treasury bonds (TLT). In weak markets it only buys QLD after a sharp drop or when short-term momentum improves; otherwise it chooses either bearish QID or defensive TLT.
Out-of-sample, this strategy pursues ~21% annualized return, beating SPY ~17%, with active risk controls and Nasdaq-technology exposure (QLD). Expect higher volatility and drawdowns (~36% vs ~19%), but stronger upside in tech rallies.
