About

A daily switch among QLD (2x Nasdaq‑100), TLT (long Treasuries), and QID (−2x Nasdaq‑100) using SPY’s 200‑day trend plus QLD’s short‑term “heat” (RSI) and 20‑day trend—aiming to ride tech uptrends, cool off in bonds, or short tech in downtrends.
NutHow it works
Daily, it holds one fund: QLD (2x Nasdaq‑100, tech‑heavy), TLT (long‑term US Treasuries), or QID (−2x Nasdaq‑100). If SPY is above its 200‑day average, hold QLD unless QLD’s RSI>77 (RSI = 0–100 “heat” score); then hold TLT. If SPY is below, hold QLD if RSI<32 or if price > 20‑day average; otherwise choose QID or TLT by the higher 12‑day RSI. Note: QLD/QID are leveraged and volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers far higher upside than the S&P 500: ~53% annualized vs 20%. Sharpe ~1.24 and Calmar ~1.29 signal stronger risk-adjusted performance, but with larger drawdowns in downturns. Higher return, higher risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
