About

Rules-based swing strategy that mostly rides the Nasdaq‑100 (QQQ), shorts it at extreme heat, buys 2x QQQ (QLD) on deep dips, and parks in inverse QQQ or short-term Treasuries when trends weaken; uses SPY’s long-term trend as a market filter.
NutHow it works
1) Check market health: if the S&P 500 (SPY) is above its 200‑day average, conditions are “healthy.” If below, they’re “unhealthy.” 2) In healthy markets: usually own QQQ; but if QQQ is extremely hot (short‑term “speedometer” > 81), briefly switch to PSQ (the inverse) to dodge a pullback. 3) In unhealthy markets: if QQQ is very washed out (<30), go aggressive with QLD (2x QQQ) for a rebound. If the whole market is washed out, buy SPY. If not, and QQQ’s short trend is weak, rotate between PSQ (inverse QQQ) or SHY (short‑term Treasuries), else hold QQQ.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~36.6% annualized return vs SPY’s ~24.6%, Calmar ~1.54. Nasdaq-100 tilt with hedges offers stronger long-term growth and solid risk-adjusted performance, though drawdowns can exceed the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
