A fast-moving strategy that tries to ride leveraged tech/stock funds in good times, then rotate into defensive or “profit-from-decline” funds when bonds and interest rates signal trouble.
NutHow it works
This strategy first asks: “Is the market environment friendly or dangerous?” It uses the recent performance of the bond market (BND) to decide. If conditions look good, it buys aggressive growth funds—often 3x tech, semiconductor, Nasdaq, or S&P 500 funds—usually choosing the ones that were recently knocked down most, hoping for a rebound. If conditions look bad, it shifts into defense: strong-dollar funds, defensive stock funds, commodities, bond-position hedges, or even funds that rise when stocks or long-term bonds fall. It pays special attention to rising interest rates, because those can hurt both stocks and bonds at the same time.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
