About

A trend-based, multi-asset portfolio. When US stocks trend up, hold S&P 500 momentum plus diversifiers. When the trend weakens, shift to a defensive mix of managed futures, low-volatility stocks, and gold. Rebalanced daily.
NutHow it works
Daily, it checks the US stock market’s trend by comparing a short-term average price of the S&P 500 to a long-term average. If uptrend: 50% S&P 500 Momentum (SPMO) + 50% split across GLD (gold), DBMF/KMLM (managed futures), CLSE (long/short equity), SDCI (commodities). If not: equal-weight DBMF, KMLM, ACWV (global low-vol stocks), USMV (US low-vol stocks), GLD.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe ~3.07 vs SPY ~2.52, drawdown 4.34% vs 6.33%, alpha ~0.15%, Calmar ~8.18, beta ~0.34. Lower risk, better risk-adjusted returns, and stronger downside protection vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
