About

A rules-based trend strategy: buy sharp tech dips, lean into uptrends with leveraged stock ETFs, and retreat to gold, Treasuries, and managed futures in weak markets. In severe bears it can short or use volatility hedges. Uses RSI and moving averages.
NutHow it works
1) Buy the dip: if 3x tech (TQQQ) is washed out (RSI<30), buy it. 2) Else read trend dials: price vs 200d, 50/200d cross, tech momentum (QQQ RSI), and bond tone (RSI of BND/IEF/TLT). 3) Uptrend: use 2–3x stock funds (SSO, TQQQ/QLD) or a milder core (NTSX) plus small‑value (VBR). 4) Downtrend: rotate to gold (GLD), Treasuries (SHY/IEF/TLT), managed futures (DBMF); in deep bears use shorts/vol (SH/PSQ/VIXM/HIBS). RSI = 0–100 heat gauge.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers superior risk-adjusted gains vs the S&P: ~105% annualized return vs ~35%, Sharpe ~2.69 vs ~2.28, Calmar ~9.35, with tech/bonds/gold/futures hedges. Drawdowns in stress periods exist but are outweighed by upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
