About

Aggressive, rules‑based allocator that rides market and tech uptrends with 3x ETFs, hedges short‑term “pops” with UVXY, selectively buys big dips, and parks in T‑Bills when risk spikes—using simple trend, RSI (hot/cold), VIX, and sector‑leadership cues.
NutHow it works
Splits money ~70%/30% across two modules. It rides stock uptrends (esp. tech) but reacts to extremes. Trend filters (short vs long averages) pick regular index funds (SPY/QQQ/DIA) or 3x versions (SPXL/TQQQ/UDOW). A ‘too hot/too cold’ gauge (RSI) flags pops: after big one‑day surges it hedges with UVXY (a volatility fund). After fast drops it either buys tech on the dip (TECL/SOXL/SPXL) or parks in T‑Bills (BIL), based on volatility. VIX and sector leadership tune aggressiveness; in calm it may use SVXY, in stress sometimes TMF/TMV or UGL.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ride tech uptrends with levered ETFs, hedge spikes with UVXY, and buy dips. Delivers outsized upside (OOS annualized ~77%), better risk-adjusted metrics (OOS Sharpe ~1.42, Calmar ~2.32) vs S&P—though drawdowns can be larger in stress.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
