About
A daily timing strategy that is usually either all-in on leveraged Nasdaq (QLD) or parked in cash-like T-bills (BIL), based on stock and bond momentum signals.
This strategy checks market strength every day using recent price trends.
1) If the S&P 500 looks healthy over the last 60 days, it asks: have bonds been stronger than stocks over the last 20 days? If yes, it buys QLD, a fund that aims to deliver about 2x the daily move of the Nasdaq-100. If no, it sits in BIL, a very short-term Treasury fund (cash-like).
2) If the S&P 500 does not look healthy, it checks a bond-market condition using medium vs long-term Treasury funds. If that bond signal is favorable, it uses the same QLD-vs-BIL test above. Otherwise, it stays in BIL.
Out-of-sample edge: 30.8% annualized return vs 21.1% for the S&P, with 14.7% max drawdown vs 18.8%. Sharpe 1.56, Calmar 2.10. Regime-based strategy that switches to cash or 2x Nasdaq to capture upside with controlled risk.
