About

Tracks Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square stocks, adds a 20% volatility kicker when markets look overheated, and switches to tactical hedges/shorts when conditions weaken. Buys the core on deep dips; stays fully long when a shipping-demand gauge is firm.
NutHow it works
Core: 80–100% in Pershing Square names (Alphabet, Hilton, Chipotle, Restaurant Brands, Howard Hughes, Canadian Pacific, Brookfield, Nike). When many market/sector gauges look overbought (a short-term “speedometer” reads high), it keeps 80% core and adds 20% UVXY to catch a volatility pop. If a shipping-demand gauge (BDRY) is firm, it stays fully in the core. If the market is very oversold, it buys the core. Otherwise, it shifts to hedges/shorts (e.g., SQQQ, SPXU) or, at times, TQQQ/cash based on bond-vs-stock strength.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets ~24% annualized return vs ~17% for the S&P, with solid risk-adjusted metrics (Sharpe ~0.97, Calmar ~1.62) and smaller drawdowns (~14.8% vs ~18.8%). Growth potential with disciplined hedging from Pershing Square ideas.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
