About

A weekly trend switch using QQQ. If QQQ is in an uptrend, it leans into momentum stocks worldwide with a small S&P 500 boost, plus some gold and a hedge. If not, it pivots to bonds, gold, and managed‑futures trend funds, sized by recent stability.
NutHow it works
Each week it checks QQQ’s trend: if the 50‑day average price is above the 200‑day average (simple averages of recent prices), it goes risk‑on. Risk‑on holds SPMO 40, IDMO 20, EEMO 20, SSO 5, GLD 10, BTAL 5. Otherwise it goes risk‑off, shifting to CTA, KMLM, FLSP, GLD, AVSF, and AVMU, sized by inverse volatility over 28 days (more to steadier assets).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: lower risk via 12.8% max drawdown, beta ~0.68, and Calmar ~1.11, plus diversified hedges and trend-following. Delivers steadier risk-adjusted returns and defensive diversification vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
