About

Daily switch: bet on a volatility spike (UVXY) when the market looks extremely overheated or just made a big move; otherwise park in T‑bills (BIL). Very tactical and risky; most of the time expects to sit in BIL.
NutHow it works
Each day it holds one thing: either UVXY or BIL. UVXY is a leveraged fund tied to stock‑market fear (it jumps when markets suddenly drop). BIL is a cash‑like T‑bill fund. It buys UVXY only when short‑term “heat” gauges say the market—especially tech—has run too hot (RSI, a 0–100 hotness meter, above ~80), or after very sharp moves in fast funds like TQQQ. Otherwise it sits in BIL. Goal: catch brief volatility spikes, avoid market exposure the rest of the time.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this volatility-timing strategy shows higher upside than the S&P 500 (about 28.8% vs 19.8%), with most days in cash (BIL) to limit risk. Calmar ~1.44 signals strong risk-adjusted gains, with occasional drawdowns for outsized upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
