About

Rules-based swing strategy using SPY’s 10‑day RSI: buys UVXY at extreme “too hot,” UPRO at “washed out,” parks in BIL when warm, otherwise holds a blue‑chip tech/financials basket. High risk due to UVXY/UPRO.
NutHow it works
It watches SPY’s 10‑day RSI (0–100 score of how fast price has moved: high=“too hot,” low=“washed out”). If RSI>80: buy UVXY (a leveraged bet on a volatility spike). Else if RSI<30: buy UPRO (3x S&P 500 rebound bet). Else if RSI>74: hold BIL (T‑bills). Otherwise hold equal parts of MSFT, AAPL, NVDA, TSLA, JPM, STT, BLK, WMT, BRK/B. Switches only when rules trigger.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: higher risk-adjusted returns (OOS Sharpe ~1.43 vs SPY ~1.31; Calmar ~1.37) and ~45% annualized vs ~21% for SPY. Accept higher drawdown (~33% vs ~19%) from regime switching.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
