About

Daily tactic that holds SPY and DIA unless their 14‑day heat gauge (RSI) is “too hot” (>70), then that half parks in BIL T‑Bills. Goal: ride stocks most of the time, step aside after sharp run‑ups, splitting exposure between S&P 500 and Dow.
NutHow it works
The portfolio is split into two halves: one tracks the S&P 500 via SPY, the other the Dow 30 via DIA. Each day it checks a 14‑day “heat gauge” (RSI: 0–100 showing recent buying vs. selling). If that gauge is above 70 for an index, that half moves to short‑term T‑Bills (BIL). Otherwise it stays in SPY or DIA (including after big dips below 30). Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Dynamic, downside-controlled exposure: out-of-sample max drawdown 17.1% vs SPY 18.8%, beta ~0.90, Calmar ~0.87, and 14.9% annualized return (vs SPY 16.38%). You get near-equity upside with a smoother, more resilient ride.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
