A high-risk “buy the dips” strategy that mixes leveraged stock bets, defensive staples, trend-following across many assets, and a tactical bond trade.

This strategy first checks if the stock market—especially big tech—looks unusually hot or unusually beaten down over the last 10 days. If tech looks too hot, it shifts mostly into consumer-staples stocks and a volatility fund that can jump during market fear. If tech or the broad market looks sharply beaten down, it buys the dip using leveraged stock funds, while still keeping half in staples for defense. Most of the time, it puts 70% into the 4 strongest trends from a mixed basket of stock, bond, gold, commodity, dollar, and sector funds, based on the last 150 days. The other 30% is a separate bet on long-term U.S. Treasury bonds, going bullish or bearish depending on the bond trend.

Out-of-sample, this strategy targets ~26% annualized return vs ~20% for the S&P, with a solid risk-adjusted profile (Calmar ~0.82) from diversified momentum and defensive ballast. Higher upside, but larger drawdowns.
