About
A high-risk daily strategy that tries to buy sharp stock-market dips, hide in volatility after overheated rallies, and otherwise sit in defensive staples or bonds.
Each day, the strategy checks whether the stock market has moved too far, too fast over the last 10 days.
If tech stocks have fallen sharply, it buys TQQQ, a very aggressive fund that bets on a rebound. If the market has run up unusually fast, it moves into VXX, a product that tends to benefit when fear jumps. If neither extreme is happening, it rotates into either consumer staples (XLP) or bonds (VBF), choosing the one that has been weaker lately.
Disciplined, rules-based strategy that buys dips, hedges spikes, and rotates into staples or bonds. Out-of-sample: ~18% annualized return, Calmar ~0.79, Sharpe ~0.62. A complementary S&P 500 approach offering diversification and growth potential.
