About

A daily, switch-on/switch-off strategy: when fear is calm it swings for the fences (leveraged Nasdaq, gold miners, Bitcoin, or short bonds) plus a small gold/Bitcoin/cash mix; when fear rises it holds one sturdy stock and one macro asset (gold/Bitcoin/long bonds).
NutHow it works
Daily it checks two “thermometers”: VIXY (market fear) and TLT (long US bonds). It compares their recent strength using RSI (a simple “recent up vs down days” gauge). If fear looks calm vs bonds, it goes risk‑on: 80% in one fast mover (picked from TQQQ=3x Nasdaq, JNUG=2x gold miners, GBTC=Bitcoin, or TMV=3x short long bonds) and 20% split across GLD (gold), GBTC, and SHV (T‑bills). Otherwise it goes defensive: 70% in one sturdy, well‑known company that looks least overheated (chosen from NVR, CAT, AXP, ISRG, TXRH, PGR) and 30% in the strongest of GLD/GBTC/TLT. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy beats the S&P: ~47% annualized return vs ~20%; Sharpe ~1.25 vs ~1.00; Calmar ~1.30; max drawdown ~36% vs ~19%. Regime-switching aims bigger upside with risk-aware diversification.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
