About

A daily, rules-based playbook: panic → move to T‑bills; calm/trending rates → own the strongest large- and small-cap stocks; otherwise rotate into the strongest commodity and bond funds. Equal-weighted, momentum-driven, with a volatility “panic” brake.
NutHow it works
Every day, it asks three questions: 1) Is fear spiking? It checks a “fear fund” (VIXY). If its speedometer (RSI) is >75—an unusually sharp jump—it parks 100% in cash‑like T‑bills (BIL). 2) If not, have bonds beaten cash over ~3 months (BND > BIL over 60 days)? If yes, go risk‑on: split evenly across leaders from big‑stock baskets (S&P 500, Nasdaq‑100, Dow) and winning small caps; in each list, buy the 3 strongest 1‑month trends. 3) If bonds haven’t beaten cash, go defensive: 50% into the 2 strongest commodity funds, 50% into the 3 strongest bond funds. Rebalances daily, so holdings can change often.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy beats the S&P 500 on risk-adjusted return: Sharpe ~5.9 vs ~1.1, much higher annualized return, and smaller drawdowns, aided by a panic-cash filter and regime-switching momentum.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
