A fast-moving, high-risk strategy that hunts for rebounds in beaten-down leveraged stock funds, but repeatedly checks for danger and can hide in cash-like assets, volatility, or other hedges when markets look stressed.

This strategy checks the market every day. If major stock areas look too “hot” after a fast run-up, it moves into UVXY, a volatility fund that tends to rise when markets get scary. If not, it looks for stress in tech stocks and bonds. In calmer conditions, it buys a few beaten-down high-octane stock funds, betting on a rebound. If conditions look bad, it shifts to safer or hedging funds like T-bills, managed futures, or funds that benefit from falling bonds.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
