About

A fast‑moving, rules‑based strategy: hedge when markets look overheated, buy big rebounds when they look washed‑out, and otherwise ride the strongest stock sectors with leveraged ETFs—parking in T‑Bills when signals are weak.
NutHow it works
It watches stock and bond funds using simple signals. RSI is a 0–100 “hot/cold” score of recent price moves (>79 = very hot; <31 = very cold). If stocks look too hot, it buys UVXY (a fund that jumps when market volatility surges). If stocks look very cold, it may buy beaten‑down tech (TECL) or short‑term bonds (BSV). If markets drop fast, it shifts to hedges (inverse stock funds, managed futures) or, if bonds are plunging, to funds that profit when Treasuries fall. Otherwise it rides the strongest stock sectors via leveraged funds (tech, semis, S&P 500, small‑caps, homebuilders, energy, etc.). If signals are weak, it holds T‑Bills (BIL). About 85% of the portfolio runs this playbook.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~47% annualized return vs ~16% for the S&P, with better risk-adjusted performance (Sharpe ~0.96 vs 0.92) and Calmar ~1.02. Uses hedges/rotation to chase gains while aiming to limit losses, though drawdowns can be larger.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
