A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A switch that chases strong uptrends (often via leveraged tech/semis), hedges when markets look overheated, and shifts to Treasuries or cash in downtrends. It uses simple trend, “hot/cold,” and risk checks to pick one or two positions at a time.
NutHow it works
First decide market “regime” with long-term trend checks. If uptrend: own the strongest area (often 3x tech/semis) unless things look overheated—then hedge with volatility funds or shift to a neutral “Safety Town” mix. If downtrend: rotate into Treasuries (TMF/TLT) or short‑Treasuries (TMV) or cash, based on trend and volatility.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this regime-switching strategy delivers ~21.93% annualized returns with a 1.77 Calmar ratio, using leaders and tactical hedges to beat the S&P’s ~8.90% return. Expect higher growth with disciplined risk controls; max drawdown can exceed 12% in downturns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
