A highly aggressive strategy that tries to ride whichever area is strongest—usually tech or leveraged stock funds—but quickly hides in volatility hedges, Treasuries, or cash-like funds when markets look overheated or weak.

This strategy is a fast-moving market switcher. It first checks whether stocks have risen too far too fast; if so, it moves into crash/volatility hedges like UVXY and defensive holdings like BTAL. If markets look healthy, it chases the strongest areas: big tech stocks, leveraged stock funds, semiconductors, real estate, or the S&P 500. If markets look weak, it shifts toward Treasury bond funds, cash-like T-bills, and other defensive positions.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
