About

A rule-based, risk-aware 60/40 that times long-term bonds and tech. It adds leverage in calm uptrends, and rotates to cash-like T‑bills, dollar, gold, and defensive stocks—or uses VIX hedges—when markets turn rough.
NutHow it works
Targets a 60/40-like mix but moves with the weather. • In calm uptrends, it leans into long US Treasury bonds (TLT/TMF) and tech (TQQQ/TECL). • If trends weaken or volatility spikes, it shifts to T‑bills (BIL/SHY), the US dollar (UUP), gold (GLD), staples (XLP), or VIX hedges (UVXY/SVXY). Rules use trend (price vs average), momentum (RSI: 0–100 speed/overheated gauge), and volatility.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, higher risk-adjusted returns (Sharpe ~1.51 vs SPY ~1.40), far smaller drawdowns (~11% vs ~19%), and Calmar ~2.02—driven by dynamic bond/tech tilts and hedging. It offers resilience with upside versus the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
