This strategy is a very active version of a “60/40” portfolio. About 40% focuses on bonds, especially U.S. Treasury bonds, and shifts between regular bonds, leveraged bond funds, gold, the U.S. dollar, and defensive stocks depending on whether interest rates seem to be rising or falling. About 60% focuses on stocks, but not in a simple way. It rotates between broad U.S. stocks, leveraged tech funds, volatility funds, and defensive assets based on whether the market looks calm, strong, shaky, or overheated.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers.
