About

Core 30% defense (BTAL + SHY). The other 70% rotates daily among SOXX, QQQ, XLK, GLD, or VIXY using simple “oversold/overheated” checks and trend filters. Aim: ride tech uptrends, buy dips in tech, hedge when too hot, hide in gold when weak.
NutHow it works
25% in a defensive stock fund (BTAL) and 5% in short‑term Treasuries (SHY). The other 70% moves daily: if semiconductors look washed out (a short‑term “temperature” gauge is very low), buy SOXX. Else, if the trend is up, buy QQQ unless things look too hot—then hedge with VIXY. If the trend is weak, buy XLK when oversold or turning up; otherwise hold GLD.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy offers a smoother ride: 30% defensive core and 70% tech rotation. Drawdown 3.57% vs 5.07% for SPY; Calmar 2.84; ~10.2% annualized return—strong risk-adjusted protection vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
