About

Trades the chip sector hard using a hot/cold meter: short when chips are too hot, long when they’ve briefly cooled. If no clear chip signal, it either hedges in very hot markets, buys 3x index ETFs on deep dips, or holds 3 strong large-cap stocks.
NutHow it works
What it watches: a “hot/cold” score (RSI) that runs 0–100 from recent up vs. down days. >70 = very hot; <30 = very cold. It also uses recent performance. Main sleeve: semiconductors (SOXX = chips). If chips look very hot, it bets on a pullback (SOXS, 3x down). If chips look briefly weak but not overheated, it buys 3x up (SOXL). Otherwise it uses a backup: Backup: - If the S&P 500 (SPY) is very hot, it hedges with volatility (VIXM). - If SPY is very cold, it buys the best of 3x tech/small-cap/S&P bulls (TECL/TNA/SPXL). - In normal times, it holds 3 strong large stocks (from MSFT, AAPL, NVDA, etc.). 3x ETFs move about 3x daily and are risky.
CheckmarkValue prop
Tap a rules-based semiconductor strategy using sector signals and 3x ETFs. OOS annualized return ~49% vs SPY ~20%; Calmar ~1.13 (better risk-adjusted than SPY) but higher drawdown ~43%—higher risk, higher upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
