About

A monthly, two-mode sleeve. If bonds are doing OK, it makes a concentrated momentum bet on either Bitcoin (GBTC) or the U.S. dollar (USDU). If bonds are weak, it sits mostly in cash and takes a small contrarian punt in a recently beaten‑down ETF. Uses some leveraged funds.
NutHow it works
Monthly check: if BND (a broad US bond ETF) had a positive ~4‑month return, put this sleeve 100% into whichever has trended better over ~4 months: GBTC (Bitcoin) or USDU (long U.S. dollar). If bonds are weak, hold mostly cash and put only ~10% into a single ETF—the one with the weakest recent readings (~25 days) among UGL, SVXY, TECL, BTAL, USDU, TBX, or STIP.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this sleeve targets higher growth (22.2%/yr vs SPY’s 18.9%), with a lower market beta (~0.68) and a regime-driven defense. Expect bigger drawdowns (~33%), but enhanced diversification and upside potential beyond the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
