About

A monthly, rules-based plan that uses SPY’s RSI to shift between defense (VIXM), caution (small 3× ETF exposure with lots of cash), or offense (the 3 strongest large stocks), equal-weighted, with leftover kept in cash.
NutHow it works
Monthly, it checks SPY (an S&P 500 fund) using RSI—a 0–100 gauge of how strong recent up-days are vs down-days. If RSI>77: go 100% to VIXM (a volatility fund that often rises when stocks fall). If RSI<30: put 10% in the 2 best of TECL/TNA/SPXL (3× bull funds), 90% cash. Otherwise: put 90% equally in the 3 strongest big stocks (mostly tech/defense), 10% cash.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets higher upside and better risk-adjusted returns than SPY: ~44.6% annualized vs ~21.1%, Sharpe ~1.42 vs 1.33, beta ~0.81, Calmar ~2.01. It uses hedges and cash buffers; drawdowns may be larger in some periods.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
