About

Monthly trend-following on 10 major Nasdaq stocks: hold each only when above its ~10‑month average; otherwise put that stock’s slice into SHV and IEI (Treasury bond ETFs). Equal-weight the active names; rebalance monthly.
NutHow it works
Every month, check 10 big Nasdaq names (Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet x2, Amazon, Tesla, Meta, Nvidia, Pepsi, Costco—mostly tech). If today’s price is above its ~10‑month average, own it. Otherwise, that slice goes 50/50 to SHV and IEI (U.S. Treasury bond ETFs). Split money equally across the passing names.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy outperforms the S&P on risk-adjusted returns: annualized ~36% vs ~24%, Sharpe ~1.88 vs ~1.51, Calmar ~2.38, and max drawdown ~15% vs ~19%. Higher growth with lower risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
