This strategy splits money into 5 buckets. It always keeps some money in a turbocharged S&P 500 fund, chases the 2 strongest market sectors, owns a basket of cheaper “value” stocks, and tests 7 commodity themes one by one. If a commodity has been doing worse than short-term Treasury bills lately, that slice moves to Treasury bills instead. It also keeps a hedge in gold and a stock-market fear fund.
