About

Long-only mining stocks (plus a lithium-miners ETF) screened daily to pick 3 equal-weight names using a 50-day trend filter and a short-term RSI filter, aiming for contrarian picks in the metals sector with daily rebalancing.
NutHow it works
The strategy builds a mining-sector long portfolio by starting with an equal-weighted pool of mining stocks and a lithium-focused ETF. Each day, it ranks the pool using two rules: (1) 50-day moving-average price screen to favor names that are cheap relative to their medium-term price trend, picking the bottom 3; (2) a very short-term RSI screen to favor those with weaker near-term momentum, picking the bottom 3 among the candidates. The final 3 are held in equal weight. This yields a small, turnover-intensive, long-only position concentrated in mining equities with a tilt toward lithium exposure.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe ~3.35 vs ~1.76; alpha ~2.07. Calmar ~31.8; ~597% annualized vs ~17.6% for the S&P. Daily-rebalanced lithium/mining long-only strategy with contrarian picks—higher upside, higher sector risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
