A fast-moving contrarian strategy: buy beaten-down leveraged tech after sharp tech selloffs; otherwise buy the most beaten-down metals fund, aiming to catch short-term rebounds.

Each day, the strategy asks one question: has tech been hit very hard lately? It checks TQQQ, a turbocharged fund tied to the Nasdaq-100. If TQQQ looks heavily sold off, it buys the worst recent performer among three leveraged tech funds (TQQQ, TECL, SOXL), betting on a bounce. If not, it buys the worst recent performer among six metals-related funds (gold, silver, copper, platinum, palladium, steel), also betting on a rebound.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
