This strategy is a fast-moving contrarian system that holds just one position at a time and checks the market every day. If the stock market has fallen unusually hard recently, it buys the most beaten-up aggressive stock fund from a small list of leveraged tech and S&P 500 funds, expecting a rebound. If the market has risen too far too fast, it buys UVXY, a product that tends to jump when fear spikes. Otherwise, it buys the metal-related fund that has fallen the most over the last 10 days, hoping for a bounce.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
