About

A daily contrarian switch between 3x tech ETFs and a metals/commodities basket, buying the worst-performing ETF in the chosen group over the last 10 days, guided by TQQQ’s RSI. High-risk, levered, and rule-based.
NutHow it works
Every trading day, judge TQQQ’s RSI. If RSI < 30, switch to the tech-ETF group (TQQQ, TECL, SOXL) and buy the one with the worst 10-day cumulative return. If RSI ≥ 30, switch to the metals/commodities group (CPER, GLD, SLV, PALL, PPLT, SLX) and buy its worst 10-day performer. Allocate 100% to that single ETF and rebalance daily. It’s a contrarian, high-risk approach using leveraged tech exposure or commodity exposure depending on the trigger.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return far exceeds the S&P (198% vs 31%), with better risk-adjusted Sharpe (1.84) and Calmar (6.05). Expect larger drawdowns (~33%). Daily contrarian switch between leveraged tech and metals.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
