About

A daily switch between SPY (U.S. stocks) and TLT (long U.S. Treasuries) using a 5‑day RSI comparison. If stocks look hotter short term, move to bonds; otherwise hold stocks. Always 100% in one ETF; flips based on short‑term momentum.
NutHow it works
Each day it compares a 5‑day “RSI” (a 0–100 score of recent up vs down moves; higher = hotter) for SPY (big U.S. stocks) and TLT (long‑term U.S. Treasury bonds). If SPY’s score is higher, it moves 100% into TLT; otherwise it holds SPY. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 11.49% annualized return, 16.89% max drawdown, Calmar 0.68—lower downside than the S&P 500. A 100% SPY/TLT rotation offers disciplined risk control and a clear risk-on/risk-off profile.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
