About

A regime-switching, multi-asset strategy that blends crypto hedges (BITI/BITO/MSTR), leveraged tech/volatility bets (TQQQ/UVXY/UPRO), and bear/bull market hedges (SQQQ/SPXU/BSV). It switches between bear and bull asset picks based on SPY momentum and uses crypto signals to adjust crypto exposures, aiming to ride upside while limiting downside.
NutHow it works
- The strategy blends two broad ideas: a crypto hedging/tilt module (BITI Bot) and a leveraged-tech/volatility tilt (TQQQ FTLT), plus a market-regime switch that chooses a single bear-tilt or bull-tilt instrument from a small pool. - Regime switch: Look at SPY's recent performance. If SPY dropped more than about 6% over the last 10 days, treat the setting as Bear Market and pick one hedging asset from SQQQ, SPXU, or BSV using a momentum ranking (RSI) over ~10 days. If not, treat it as Bull Market and pick one asset from BSV, TQQQ, or UPRO using RSI over ~20 days. - Crypto/yield layer: The BITI Bot uses signals that compare bitcoin-related ETFs (BITI and BITO) and a crypto sentiment proxy (MSTR) plus volatility signals (UVXY). If signals suggest crypto downside is unlikely, the crypto hedge is reduced; if signals align with crypto downside/uncertainty, BITI exposure can be boosted. Nested conditions also consider moving-average and relative-performance checks. - Leverage and hedges: The TQQQ FTLT branch toggles between aggressive tech exposure (TQQQ) and volatility hedges (UVXY) based on momentum signals, aiming to catch big moves while managing risk. - Cash allocation: The system allocates capital across these parts with predefined weights, and shifts emphasis when the inner conditions fire. The net effect is a dynamic blend of crypto hedges, leveraged equities, volatility exposure, and defensive assets designed to adapt to changing market regimes.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets far higher upside (approx 58% annualized vs approx 22% for the S&P) with solid risk-adjusted metrics (Sharpe ~1.17, Calmar ~1.19). It blends regime hedges, crypto tilts, and leverage; expect higher drawdowns but bigger upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
