About

Tactical crypto strategy: short bitcoin in downtrends, sometimes buy crypto‑linked stocks on sharp bounces, otherwise park in a hedge of dollar strength or volatile risk assets (semis, commodities). Uses moving averages, RSI, and volatility cues.
NutHow it works
It first checks trend in the Bitcoin ETF BITO (price vs 62‑day avg). If BITO looks weak, it mostly bets against bitcoin via BITI (inverse ETF). Big short‑term spikes can flip it to buy MSTR (MicroStrategy), COIN (Coinbase), or BITO. If BITO isn’t weak, it hedges: if the US dollar (UUP) is trending up, hold USDU; otherwise hold the 2 most volatile of SOXL (3x semis), PDBC (commodities), BIL (T‑bills). Signals use RSI (recent buying vs selling), recent % change, and typical daily swing.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return: 24.3% vs SPY’s 20.6%, with crypto-tactical bets and a dollar/hedge diversification. Higher upside in volatile markets and diversification beyond a tech-heavy S&P, but expect higher drawdowns and a lower Sharpe.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
