If things look good, they often buy aggressive stock funds tied to tech, the Nasdaq, or the S&P 500. If things look dangerous, they move into safer areas like short-term Treasuries, gold, the U.S. dollar, or low-volatility stock funds—and sometimes even bet against the market.
