About
A simple contrarian strategy: each month, buy the 2 worst recent performers among 7 long-established blue-chip companies, betting those beaten-down names will bounce back.
Each month, the strategy looks at 7 very old, established U.S. companies and asks: which 2 did the worst over the last 28 days?
It then buys those 2 and splits the money evenly between them. The idea is that durable, long-lived companies may recover after short-term weakness.
Out-of-sample shows ~20% annualized return vs ~10% for the S&P, with higher Sharpe (~1.21 vs ~0.85), lower drawdown (~4.46%), and negative beta. A simple monthly, 2-stock contrarian bet on durable blue-chips aims for stronger, smoother upside.
