About

A simple, leveraged “all‑weather” mix: 36% 3x U.S. stocks (UPRO), 36% 3x 7–10y Treasuries (TYD), 28% 2x gold (UGL), rebalanced quarterly. Aims to shine in varied economies but with very large ups and downs; backtested results, not live since 1992.
NutHow it works
Hold three funds and keep them near fixed weights: 36% UPRO (aims for 3x the daily move of the S&P 500), 36% TYD (3x the daily move of 7–10 year U.S. Treasury bonds), 28% UGL (2x the daily move of gold). Every 3 months, sell what’s above target and buy what’s below to reset to those weights.
CheckmarkValue prop
All-weather, rules-based mix: 3x S&P, 3x bonds, 2x gold; quarterly rebalance. Out-of-sample: 37.7% annual return vs 21.3% for the S&P; Sharpe ~1.61 vs 1.33; Calmar ~1.84 - higher growth with disciplined diversification.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
