About

Aggressive, rules‑based swing strategy. When markets look healthy it buys offense (3x Tech or short‑vol). When stress rises it flips to Treasuries, gold, managed futures (KMLM), USD, or volatility hedges. Very active and high risk; backtests aren’t guarantees.
NutHow it works
It’s a fast rule‑driven switcher. It watches fear (VIX), interest rates (TLT trend), tech momentum/volatility, junk bonds, and oil. RSI is a 0–100 “speedometer”: low = washed‑out, high = overheated. • Calm/favorable: buys offense (3x Tech via TECL or “fear falling” via SVIX). • Uncertain: rotates to steadier diversifiers (Treasuries TMF, gold GLD, anti‑beta BTAL, USD UUP, managed‑futures KMLM, or mid‑term VIX VIXM). • Panic: may use UVXY briefly; can try quick bounce or short trades.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this rule-based strategy offers stronger risk-adjusted returns vs the S&P: Sharpe 1.43 vs 1.14, Calmar 2.83, beta ~0.89, and ~83.9% annualized return. Larger drawdowns possible; hedges aim for faster recoveries.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
