About

A rules-based “offense/defense” switch. In uptrends it rides momentum with leveraged tech/S&P funds. When things get hot or roll over, it quickly hedges or rotates to defensive ETFs (inverse funds, Treasuries, dollar, gold). Uses trend, RSI, and recent returns.
NutHow it works
Step 1: trend—Is the S&P 500 above its 200‑day average? If yes, go on offense with leveraged stock funds (e.g., 3x Nasdaq TQQQ, 3x Tech TECL, 3x S&P SPXL/UPRO). If the market looks overheated (RSI ~70–80+ or a big 1‑day pop), take a brief UVXY hedge. If momentum fades or drops fast, switch to defense: inverse stock funds, Treasuries, short‑term bonds, the US dollar or gold. It also compares stocks vs commodities (DBC). RSI is a 0–100 “heat” score.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy aims for higher growth (≈35% annualized vs SPY's ≈23%), with dynamic trend/volatility hedges and offense/defense rotations. Strong upside, but with larger drawdowns and lower risk-adjusted Sharpe than SPY.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
