About

Buys reasonably priced, profitable growers and rides the strongest 6‑month trends. Goes to T‑bills when the S&P 500 is in a downtrend, but buys the dip when it’s short‑term oversold. Often tilts to energy, gold miners, and financials; no healthcare.
NutHow it works
Screen for: price <15× next year’s earnings, >10% expected EPS growth, strong profit margins; no healthcare. From those, hold the 15 best ~6‑month performers (equal‑weight). Risk rule: if the S&P 500 (SPY) is below its 150‑day average (downtrend), move to T‑bills (BIL) unless SPY’s 10‑day RSI—a short‑term “oversold” gauge—is <30; then we hold the 15. Rechecked daily. Usual tilt: energy, gold miners, financials; some software, travel/telecom.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 4.06 vs 3.70; 91% vs 66% annualized return; drawdown 3.02% vs 3.17%; beta 0.77; Calmar 30.13. A disciplined GARP/momentum/dip-buy strategy that reduces risk and captures leaders.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
