About

A tactical semiconductor strategy that switches among SMH, 3x bull (SOXL), 3x bear (SOXS), Treasuries (SHY), and volatility/dollar hedges (VIXM, UVXY, UUP) using fear (UVXY), big one‑day moves, and trend/RSI signals. High risk due to leverage.
NutHow it works
It focuses on chip stocks (via SMH). It uses 3x bull (SOXL) to bet on rises and 3x bear (SOXS) to bet on drops. First, it gauges fear with UVXY (a VIX-based “fear” fund): high/medium/low. On very big daily moves in SMH it “fades” the move (buy the dip with SOXL + hedges like VIXM/UVXY and UUP, or fade pops with SOXS + SHY). If no extremes, it follows the trend (moving averages/RSI = a 0–100 hot/cold gauge): hold SMH or top chip stocks when SPY/SMH are healthy; otherwise shift to SOXL/SOXS/SHY.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 41.67% annualized vs SPY 20.88%, plus volatility-aware hedging and regime switching. Captures big upside in semis and volatile markets, with higher drawdown risk than the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
