About

A daily, rules-based plan: in uptrends, hold DIA unless short-term readings look overheated—then switch to VIXY for a volatility pop. In downtrends, try rare tech rebounds (TECL) when washed out; otherwise rotate to DIA on short bounces or to BTAL for defense.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks two things: 1) Long-term trend: Is the S&P 500 (SPY) above its 200‑day average? If yes, it holds DIA (the Dow ETF) unless a short 10‑day “heat gauge” (RSI: 0–100; >80 = very hot) on major indexes/sectors flashes hot—then it switches to VIXY (benefits from volatility spikes). 2) If SPY is below its 200‑day: if tech is extremely cold (RSI on TQQQ <30), it tries a rebound with TECL; else if SPY is above its 30‑day average, it holds DIA; otherwise it uses BTAL (defensive, market‑neutral).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~50.6% annualized return vs ~22.2% for SPY, Calmar ~1.97. A rules-based rotation with volatility hedges aims for substantial upside and strong risk-adjusted performance, outperforming SPY on a risk-adjusted basis.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
